About the founder

For too long, outdoor education has been filtered through a narrow lens, one that often leaves women feeling unseen or underestimated.

Growing up surrounded by hunters, hikers, and outdoorsmen, I learned quickly how easy it was to feel out of place. I wanted to know more, to be capable, but I rarely found teachers who understood that hunger without condescension.

Mountain Maven Company was born from that gap, to create a space where women are invited, encouraged, and equipped to learn on their own terms.

Here, we believe outdoor skills are more than survival tactics, they’re acts of stewardship, reverence, and empowerment. This isn’t about competing with anyone. It’s about belonging, learning, and thriving in the wild.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. Sign up for a course and learn how capable you truly are, I’d love to see you out there!

with a wild heart,

Cheyanna
